Weck’s found immediate success when it opened in 1991 due in large part to a comfort-food menu loaded with hints of New Mexico (can you say “green chile-infused pancakes?”). The portions don’t hurt either—a full section of the menu is devoted to “Full Belly Favorites” including one dish called the “Papa Grande” which is so big it costs $20! This breakfast/lunch concept obviously hit all the right notes: at last count there were a dozen metro-area locations (plus spots in Santa Fe and Farmington!).
