There’s no better place for someone unfamiliar with the nuances of Albuquerque to get a taste of local flavor. With more than 100 shops and restaurants from which to choose your out of state guest will be hard pressed to leave without buying something. Make a day of it with stops at the many attractions: visit the BioPark and Museum of Natural History and Science; or take a ghost tour in the evening. While there is regular live music during the summer weekends at the Plaza Vieja Gazebo keep an eye out for other talented performers in action when exploring the area. And don’t forget to haggle for bargains with the Native artists and silversmiths who sell their wares on the plaza perimeter.
