Diners often think Pelican’s is a national chain but this local restaurant with two locations actually launched in ABQ in 1977. The throwback seaside decor and incognito lighting tend to give patrons a warm inviting feeling even before they open the classic surf-and-turf menu. Offerings like Shrimp Scampi (sautéed in garlic butter and white wine) Australian Lobster Tail and Trout Almondine (pan-fried and rolled in almonds) satisfy the seafood crowd while items like the Prime Rib and Center-Cut Sirloin draw raves from beef lovers.
